World-renowned British producer, musician and DJ Will Holland aka Quantic celebrates year one of his own Selva Records with a compilation that rounds up the label's first year of singles, along with a few exclusives. Joining tracks by Quantic, Ondatrópica and Los Miticos Del Ritmo are new faces Teletronix and Favourite People along with a collaboration with Denitia.

Selva was built and conceived by Will and his partner Aziza Ali. They conceptualized a recording space and studio with ample natural light, the wooden-furnished grandeur of yesteryear studios, and spacious enough to house Will's vast collections of vintage recording equipment, instruments and records. Selva also operates as a production facility, where writing, recording, mixing and vinyl mastering takes place daily. Releasing records on Selva, all made in this unique analogue recording environment, was a natural evolution.

'Selva Selects: Thunderclaps' launches out of the starting gate with Quantic's exclusive 'Degeneration', a highlight of his recent modular synth-driven live set for Boiler Room. Its joined by Quantic's epic new orchestral disco track 'Theme From Selva', a show-stopping entrance worthy of any Soul Train line, a heavy disco cover of Paul McCartney and Wings' spectacular 'Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five' (from their 1973 album 'Band on the Run') and smouldering soul track 'Nowhere' with Denitia.

Two dancefloor focused instrumental cumbias by Los Miticos del Ritmo, all recorded directly to tape at Selva, features Will's popular acordeon-led combo, last known for their cover of Drake's 'Hotline Bling.' Favourite People is a new band from the Brooklyn boroughs orbiting blues-rock with faint psychedelic radio waves. The band met in 'International Waters', the legendary after-hours club in the East Village and soon began rehearsing at Selva after a chance meeting with Will.

Ondatrópica is a collaboration between Will, Colombian musician and producer Mario Galeano, and an all-star cast of Colombian musicians. 'Noche de Amor' is led by legendary Colombian big band leader/arranger/conductor Juancho Vargas, with Ondatrópica recorded at  the legendary (now demolished) Discos Fuentes studio in Medellin. Mangling 8-bit Afrobeat rhythms with vapor wave montunos, Will's new Teletronix moniker contributes 'Metropolitan'; composed, performed and mixed entirely on the famed OP-1 mini synthesizer made by Teenage Engineering.

'Selva Selects: Thunderclaps' is a snapshot of the musical mind and boundless creativity of the ever prolific Will Holland and points to a bright future for his Selva label and studio.
